Hilton Waterfront Beach Hotel: Katherine & Alex Wedding

National Public Radio did a segment on how people plan on celebrating the October 10, 2010, or 10/10/10 date.  A group of 9 nine years with birthdays on the 10th were all especially giddy and anxious for the auspicious date to arrive. One woman caller said that she would celebrate the day by having her wedding. I couldn’t help but smile and reflect on how apropos the moment was since I was driving the Katherine and Alex rehearsal for their wedding.

Katherine and Alex married on 10/10/10 at the Huntington Waterfront Beach Hotel. Weather for the morning ceremony could not have been more perfect with the clouds casting soft ambient light down on the couple.

The couple choose not to see one another until the ceremony and had booked adjacent hotel rooms.

Ahhh… look at the cute couple in the back.

The Villa: Diana & John Wedding

Diana and John recently married (08.28.2010) and held their wedding ceremony at Saint Callistus Catholic Church with the reception at the beautiful Villa banquet hall.  I previously met these two when I covered her sister’s wedding last year. They were a wacky and fun loving couple then so I was certain I wouldn’t be disappointed with their “performances” on their wedding day. The photography was splendid throughout the day – moments of joy,  tears of sentiments, expressions of love, and nights of dancing were captured that day.  Please preview a few of my favorite photographs captured on their wedding day.

Jenny & Chris: Chart House Wedding

Venue:  Chart House

Hair & Makeup:  EChou, Elaine

DJ/MC:

Jenny and Chris were married this past Sunday afternoon at the beautiful Chart House restaurant in Redondo Beach.  Jenny previously worked under Chris a few years ago and the two remained friends after Jenny left the company. The two started dating shortly.

Jenny is a natural at posing.  I only had to give her a general idea of my vision and the rest was totally hers to own.

Some images, like the candid  capture below, was totally spontaneous. The pose is just the way Jenny choose to balance herself after putting on her ear rings.

I wasn’t sure if the pipes below were sturdy enough to support all those diamonds! :)

I was so lucky to discover the speech below written by Jenny’s niece. It was precariously hanging off the table. It wasn’t there very long because it quickly disappeared a few moments after the photograph was captured.

The Chart House is a beautiful venue with plenty of light coming through all the windows. I had to trust that my exposure was correct, because all that light does a number  on the camera’s histogram. With all the glare, you can forget about visually inspecting the the back LCD screen too. The photographs come out awesome if you can correctly nail the exposure.
