Palace of Fine Arts: Jacqueline & Spencer Engagement

I had a dual purpose for traveling up north to San Francisco this past weekend. The first reason was to cover Serena & Parker’s wedding banquet at the Koi Palace on Saturday, and then to hold Spencer and Jacqueline’s engagement session at the Palace of Fine Arts and The Embarcadero on Sunday.  The weather was a mixed blessing. It was raining and cold, but the overcast clouds became a big soft box to filter the Sun rays down on the cute couple. Just admire the glow of light on their skin in the photographs below.

I almost missed this spot between the pillars. Jacqueline is back lit from light in the clearing behind her and subtle light is filtered  down from above and in front of her. I could not decide which perspective of Jackie I liked better so I included them both below.

The location on the right photograph below is in the alley/dock area of a building on Embarcadero. There were two gentlemen of questionable intent hanging out and rollin’ a fat dubie just to the left of where I was standing to photograph Spencer and Jackie. The fellas weren’t too much of a concern. They just sat there and watched as Spencer and Jackie balanced on the five inch deep ledge.

A crowd of people gathered and started snapping their cameras as we posed for the photographs below. As you can see, the wet masonry didn’t stop the two from posing for a good photograph.

Shoreline Village: Su & Ed Engagement

I met Su and Edward from Charlotte and Kevin’s wedding a few years ago. Edward is Charlotte’s cousin. Congratulations to Charlotte & Kevin, by the way. She is about 12 weeks pregnant with   twins! I can’t wait for their baby session.

Su and Ed wanted a venue with good color and nice architecture, and also one that was close to the beach.  I’m always excited to shoot a session at Shoreline Village – there’s so much color and texture to explore. I push myself to search and capture new perspectives each time.

Seal Beach: Diana & John Engagement

“My sister (Diana) and John are real hams,” says Michelle.  Michelle is a previous Bride of mine from last year and it was at her wedding that I met these two crazy cats, Diana and John. Click  here to view Michelle’s wedding.

Well, they got engaged this year and will wed next month. We shot their engagement session at Seal Beach and along Main St. early this week. The week must have been real exciting, and I bet hectic, since they were leaving for a family trip to Hawaii the very next day after our session together.

Below are a few of my favorites from the session.
